Guild Wars 2 Lottery.

Since i dont have all day to read through the 68 pages of this thread im sorry if i repeated this idea.

1. I think one great feature in guild wars 2 would be having guild wars lottery where every player no matter the level would be able to go to any main oupost and talk to a Lottery NPC which would register any player to the lottery for 1 platinum or more(something affordable) and then take all that cash and split it between multiple winners daily.( /signed)

Once again i am trully sorry if i repeated this idea.

2. Every year of my characters birthday i was anxious to see what minipet i have recieved and every consecutive year i was shocked to see a common minipet, I believe that a player should be rewarded for all the time he/he has spent playing. This goes with the drop system, I think players who have spent a decent amount of time playing/farming should have a greater chance of getting a rare drop than those who have been playing/farming for a short while. I am not saying that specific player who has been playing should get a 95% chance of getting a rare drop but instead a slightly higher chance than the other player who has been farming for a shorter time. I think this kind of drop system would be ideal in Guild Wars 2, just a suggestion dont go raging against me if you disagree.

3. If minipets do go On to Guild Wars 2 i think the Birthday Presents(Minipets) should not be based on each characters age but rather how long the player has been playing so instead of getting a present for each character i think it would be fair to give the present to the player rather than each character. Not every player has 1000000 Characters on his/her account.

1) Lottery would be a nice little add to it. Would be nice with more ways of earning money. Like a real capitalistic society

2) And what about the people who have jobs and school to attend to and doesn't have as much time to play? It would mean fewer people would buy the game because they think it's an unfair system. No we should stick with the old ones.

3) Meh I wouldn't really care either way but since many agree with you on this one I'll just agree too :P

NEW IDEA: At least to me... Probably been up a thousand times :P

Some enemies should have a temper. Like think of this: A group of devourers are in the middle of (surprise) devouring their last prey, but the smaller level 20 devourer gets pushed back by all of the level 23 devourers and the level 25 leader of the pack. As you get closer the smaller one notice you and try to get you for it's own meal. It attacks you alone. If you counterattack the other devourers including the leader will attack you as well. Should you kill the leader the remaining ones will try and run off. If you don't kill anyone but simply harm them they will not follow you very long if you try and run.

Impossible to do? Probably but even so I would love to be able to study the nature and behaviour of my opponents instead of just randomly running in and kill them XD

Some thoughts, and ideas that might make GW2 better...

1)Automate the whole process that people have to go through to get into PvE and PvP teams, and eliminate the need for "in demand" builds/classes. No more"GLF Monk!/Nuker!/MM" Everyone should be "in demand". The addition of PvE only skills was a step in the right direction. They allowed "unpopular" character classes to be "of use" to random teams.

Rework the PvP system completely, so that it is more accessible and easy to get into, regardless of skill level or character class. Just because it's "Guild Wars" doesn't mean it has to be the way the original was!

The beauty of Diablo II was the fact that one could ALWAYS get into a team. It didn't matter what your character class was, or how skilled you were. The only "discrimination" was by character level. And even then, many teams would allow low level leechers, because the system was set up such that leechers could not hinder the team's efficiency(much), since every member was SELF SUFFICIENT(given high enough level off course). Teammates and henchies were very helpful, but never REQUIRED. You didn't have to have a devoted group of friends that would show up for PvP matches. The whole server of people were your "friends" and "teammates" regardless of whether they wanted that or not. It was never "personal" and no one was forced to "know" anyone or show up at the time that's good for other guildies. And yes, I know there was no guilds in D2, and no "team PvP" per se... But the system was very good. At least on the PvE side.

2)Introduce 1 on 1 PvP. Not the way it's done with heroes, but REAL 1 vs. 1. I know it's currently not a good idea with how things are in the game, but why not make it so that it becomes a good idea?

3)PvP betting.... Before entering a match, each player bets an item. It can be anything from complete junk to something very precious. Matches can be divided into "leagues", where there are "elite" leagues with high stakes and "lesser" leagues where anything is fine.

4)"Off track" betting, where people bet their money on players or teams of their choice.

5)Make the PvE aspect of the game a lot more diverse, fun and fulfilling, with less grinding, less "go fetch this" quests, and more fun. Increase the level cap to at least level 99 if not infinity. I know some will say this will screw up the guild wars aspect of the game, but the level cap can be raised only for PvE and 1vs1 matches. It can stay at 20 for guild matches.

6)Hire good character designers and better artists. (No more anorexic assassins looking like they came out of some cheesy Naruto anime for 8 year olds...) Run more of those "design a..." contests, but this time not just weapons... Armors, characters, skills, etc... Let people design EVERYTHING, and leave it to the devs to choose those ideas they like and discard those they don't! Most importantly, don't do it through forums, but make a separate section of the GW web page where people can submit their ideas, pictures and videos.

7)Auction house... Nuff said.

8)Gambling? People playing against each other in games of chance...

9)More diverse items stat wise... There's more than enough skins, but little diversity in stats. I know the devs were pushing for equality with the current system, but that led to most items becoming worthless. WoW may be an item grindfest, but people need something to strive for! I'd rather grind for cool armors, accessories, items rather than titles. (that's just me though)
That being said, I love the idea that was posted earlier where someone said that weapons would only be attainable as quest rewards and such, and not sellable/tradeable to players. Wonderful idea IMO!
Another idea would be to make weapons/items attainable through sophisticated crafting. I like how in Titan Quest you find arcane formulas as drops which list the ingredients. You then collect the necessary components and craft artifacts that enhance your abilities... (again this should be non transferable/non tradeable)

10)Do something about economy and sale orders. No one uses the current sale order system, preferring to spam "WTS" instead... It's a friggin' mess. Why not make this clean and structured?

11)Monsters... Make them more diverse, with boss monsters really standing out from the rest. Not just a glowing aura, but how about towering giants 4 times the size of the player character making he ground shake with every step? But what about end game bosses, you might say... Well, these would be yet even larger and more imposing!

12)No more minipets! Lame and childish nonsense. This crap is along the lines of Pokemon, Tamagochi, "Nintendogs", those girly pet games for DS, and the like... "Awww.. My minipet is sooo cute! Coochie-Coochie-Coooo..." (That's purely IMHO, so don't bash me for this one)

13)More character customization options from start... Haircuts, hair colors, custom faces, bandanas, masks, tatoos, jewelry, glasses, hats, etc should be available FROM START, with more unique ones being obtainable through quests or whatever.

14)Steeds! Need I say more?

Yes, I know that I want too much from a game with NO MONTHLY FEES. But did you see me say anywhere that I want ALL of this implemented? These are ideas! It's up to Anet to do what they see fit. I'm merely speaking my mind.

Not sure if it has been suggested already but here goes:
For the sake of balance I think racial abilities should be PvE only, all races still being selectable in PvP for looks but no additional bonus outside of that.

Just look at games like WoW etc, racial abilities are really hard to balance.

Racial abilities in WoW do not have any significant unbalancing effects on PvP.

allow you to buy/sell more than 1 rare material at a time to the trader!

buying 350 vellum is not currently an enjoyable experience >_>

Instead of character classes, every ability line should be available from the get-go. The point system can function the same, while having the choice of being any sort of "Guild Wars" character the player wants at anytime.

Maybe double the points a character gets per level. Having four or five high-leveled ability trees would make PvP incredibly diverse as well as allowing interesting PvE role-playing options.

As for the primary abilities, I'd say keep them separate from the other abilities and chosen at character creation. Rather than spending points on it, it raises one point every two character levels.

Skills are still obtained the same way (bought or quested). Obviously. Although, I'd say two or three Skill Points should be awarded per level due to having so many abilities.

Just a fun little idea I came up with. What about an interactive economic cycle like in the real world. An economy with it's high points, low points. During the high points, it's easier to earn money. During the low points it's harder to earn money. This would make it a tricky and fun economy. Whether it's possible in-game or not I have no idea. It would just be a fun idea.

Haven't read the entire post, so if it's not written, here it is. If it is written, then I'll reiterate:

Minion menu!

This has been mentioned in Sardelac. Here.

For a screenshot. Work done by beleg curudin.

Maybe also have the minion icons correspond to the actually minion. Eg: Flash Golem icon would have a Flesh Golem face on it.

Well, I'm sure someone's already suggest this, but, it's the best possible suggestion there is, so, it needs to be repeated:

If ANet wants Guild Wars 2 to have a healthy PvP community, personal rankings MUST be removed from PvP. The whole rank situation in GW lead to a gap between those who started PvPing in the very beginning and those who started PvPing at later dates. As of now, it is nigh impossible to get started in in GW PvP since a specific rank is required by most groups for anything other than RA. So, you can spend eons grinding a couple Gladiator ranks in RA, and then participate in TA, but that's it, since no one in HA will take anyone who doesn't already have a rank. So, in GW2, it is absolutely necessary that personal ranks be removed if ANet wants new people to actually start PvPing. Guild rankings, however, are fine.

I was thinking of ways to add even more collectability value to drops. With GW2 right around the corner…don’t hold your breath. I think it would be of value to implement an edition marking on marking on the drops (only weapons and off hands). The item will still display the description, values, and req. the same way it is today, but it would also have an addition marking. They system would tag a drop with an Edition #1 or E1 (for items that drop during the first 1-3 months after the item is released), edition 2 (for 3-12 months after item is released), edition 3 (over a 1 year old) So if you are lucky and get a certain drop within the first few months after the item was released you will have a valuable item that should hold value over time. This may help with items getting over farmed and add some more collectability.

well most has been said in the 200000 posts so far.

i didnt read them all but i would like to see skills like a necro being able to put miasmas on the field. and to whoever said the confusion idea with the mesmers i think it would be a great idea to have a skill that inverts the way a person walks(since i hear mouse clicking will not be implemented in gw2 it would make it harder to use the keys to walk)

minion window would be great. right now the heroes almost seem superior to real people when it comes to minion bombing because we have a hard enough time as is targeting them.

now i know there are mods out there for this but i think it should be put in the game anyway. i would like the 25/50/75 marks on the health bar/bars. either the targeted or party window bars as well.

skill quests as the only way to obtain skills. makes it more of a priority to go places you wouldnt need to go otherwise, gives runners more customers(no im not a runner and not trying to fix things up for myself)

customizable guild halls. we should be able to buy the npcs and then choose where they go. as if we are building a town.

housing inside the guild halls. but only a certain amount that you can have in the hall, and everything should be upgradable and starts out kindof crappy looking and you can make them look nicer each time you choose to upgrade the house as a whole. (ex. starts looking like a shack, then upgrade to look more and more modern to extravagent)

decorations to add in guild halls such as fountains and statues. have small animals walking around.

guild hall storage vault. should have things that you can put in the vault that other guild mates can take a couple things from. limit amount so they cant just take everything.

messaging. would be nice if we could send messages to friends who are barely on the same time you are. plus add the option to send an item to them limited to a couple times a day.

taverns. people could get alcohol from them and help out drunkard if it is still in the game. people could play minigames there. maybe have as an option for the guild hall too.

library that would have tips and info like an in game wiki.

good and evil rep(like fable yes)

designs and patterns like tattoos to add to armor/weps

armor as a skin instead of set. for instance you buy the types of armor like steel/mythril etc and the skins determine ultimately how it looks.

claymores(two handed swords)

options like halos, horns, unicorn horns etc to fool around with. like festival hats but not limited to getting them from only festivals.

different color text for friends you see.

day and night, weather systems.

pets have a small skill bar like 2-3 skills. one would be a default skill(like how black bears have brutal mauling)

and an idea i dont think others have thought of is a special ability that you can get. after you get a certain killstreak you can use the ability. if you die youre killsteak resets. each race would have a different ability. foes who are ressed can count again to the streak. pve would have a higher counter before you can use because of how easy it is to kill and the number of foes there are. pvp would scale to the different kinds of pvp. ra and other small pvp areas would have about 4 kills, bigger areas like gvg would have 6 or so kills. of course none of the stats are set in stone. not at all, but i would like this intended as more of a buff. maybe have an option to choose what buff you recieve. like choosing between half skill recharges, half cast times, recieve less damage, do more damage, ias, ims, energy regen or lowered energy costs.

Stats/Tittles window:

When I type "/age" I get the age of character/overall time played. In GW2, I want more detailed stats in a window, how much time I played as monk, how much times I used a skill (what are my top10 skills), how many times I visited a outpost (top10 visited outpost), how much as asura or human, including deleted characters, in a few words I want LOT of stats, I love stats.

This stats window could be he SAME for titles window, I mean, most of the stats could be used as titles, so a full window of your playing stats with some selectable as titles.

More things coming to my mind: how many monsters/bosses you killed, how many quests/missions you completed, how many gold passed for your hands, and soooo on. There are hundreds of possibilities for stats, and (again) I love stats.

(note: if I remember correctly, something interesting related to my idea will be part of the next WoW expansion)

1) miasmas on field and mesmer walking illusion: Good idea.

2) minion window: Good idea.

3) 25/50/75 marks: Would help greatly

4) Skill quests as only way to get skills: At least more skill quests. I do not approve of the "only" thing, but I must admit that there should be more variety between how to get skills like: Basic skills can youget from traders, more elite skills from monsters and quests, super elite skills from super elite monsters or something like that.

5) YES! YES! I've even made such posts myself! More customization so it seems more lively and personal!

6) kind of an upgrade on the one above but still the YES YES I said before :P

7) 2 times above again and again a YES YES XD

8) Never thought of that but like it.

9) Kind of like emailing :P but yes would be a nice way to make people come to guild meetings and such.

10) Good idea about taverns

11) The /help is good enough there. However libraries could be a way to train attributes and learn new skills, another way to learn skills. And you should be able to buy and sell tomes there :O

12) naah. Noone is going to play on the side of the dragons.

13) Nice touch

14) I like the fact that you can mix armor sets like platemail helm, templar bottom half and gladiator upper half. I don't use that myself but it adds to the opportunities.

15) I like the 2 handed thingy :P

16) don't really care there. Wouldn't mind it though :P

17) don't really care there. Wouldn't mind it though :P

18) yes by the love of god yes!

19) maybe not 2-3. but 1 beast skill would be nice.

20) abilities should be skills and not killstreak. Would make more sense.

keep the same skill system for the most part (as I would miss it lol)

but... for weapon wise

I think anyone with say, 15-20 max titles should be allowed to design their own weapon, and have it created for their GW2 characters as their GW1 characters names

Ex: Kaneka's Blade, Alia's Staff,

I know it won't happen but it would be cool

Another cool thing...

Being able to have mini's of your GW1 characters with your favorite armor/weapon combo on them :P

Wouldn't it be nice if we can use Great Swords in that game? I'm talking about big swords that require two hands. Hell, why not a two handed Big Axe while we are at it? They'd have the same stats as a hammer, only difference is damage type (both being slash anyways). By the way, I think we have hammers like maces deal pierce damage, right? Well, just in case we should have that for GW2 also. Maces! With spikes on them! Makes perfect since that they deal piercing damage. Although this does bring a question: If axes and swords can be made like hammers, what skills do we use them in contrast to the skills originally for one handed variants? Well, to put it plainly there can still be skills for the appropriate attribute. It's just that for some they can only be for the one handed versions. Like for example Executioners Strike for a one handed axe, ONLY. If you have a two handed axe right on hand then you can't use that skill with that big thing. So what of it, guys? Does anyone want to see those weapons come to form in GW2?
